Recently, Professor Xie Yongshu’s research team from Feringa Nobel Scientists Joint Research Center ECUST has made important progress in expanding the research of poroline. The latest research result “Expanded N-Confused Phlorin: A Platform for Multiply Fused Polycyclic Ring System via Oxidation within the Macrocycle” was published in Journal of American Chemical Society(JACS).

    The research work was mainly completed by Li Chengjie (Associate Professor), Li Qizhao (Postdoctoral Candidate) and Shao Jiewei (Master Candidate) under the guidance of Professor Xie Yongshu. The research work has also been helped by Professor Hiroyuki Furuta of Kyushu University in Japan in mechanism research and spectral analysis.In addition, the research group of Professor Hans Ågren of Royal Swedish Institute of Technology has provided a lot of help in theoretical calculation.

    The research was under careful supervision of Academician Tian He and financially supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Shanghai Science and Technology Major Project, Shanghai Science and Technology International Cooperation and other projects.
