ECUST Latest Research on Pathogen Infection and Host Interaction Published online in Cell Reports

Recently, Cell Reports, a sub-journal of Cell, published online the research on the molecular mechanism of interaction between Edwardsiella piscicida, a key pathogenic bacterium in aquaculture, and macrophages by Professor Liu Qin, School of Bioengineering, ECUST. It clarified that bacteria can use the polyamine pool of host cytoplasm through arginine metabolism pathway, and realize the escape of macrophage NLRP3 inflammatory corpuscle.

The article is first-authored by Jiang Jiatiao, a Doctoral candidate of the School of Bioengineering, ECUST, and corresponding-authored by Associate Professor Yang Dahai of ECUST. The research work has been supported by Professor Zhang Yuanxing and Professor Liu Qin of the School of Bioengineering, and funded by National Key Research and Development Plan, Natural Science Foundation, Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Action Plan and other projects.
