German Applied Chemistry Publishes ECUST Latest Research Progress of Intelligent Dynamic Polymers

Recently, the research group of Professor Qu Dahui from the School of Chemistry and the Feringa Nobel Prize Scientists Joint Research Center   reported a new strategy of self-evolution of dry network polyurethane thermosetting material with high mechanical properties into regular hollow structure in alkaline solution. The transformation of the cross-linked structure in the polymer network can induce the shape change of the polymer film, and realize the micro-structure regulation to promote the macro-shape change. The research article is published in German Applied Chemistry with the title of “Self-Evolution of High Mechanical Strength Dry-Network PolythiourethaneThermosets into Neat Macroscopic Hollow Structures”.

The research work was mainly accompanished by Doctoral Candidate Zhou Shangwu of the School of Chemistry, under the guidance of Professor Qu Dahui. The research work was financially supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Frontier Science Center of the Ministry of Education of Materials Biology and Dynamic Chemistry, Shanghai Science and Technology Major Project, Shanghai Science and Technology Committee, and Feringa Nobel Prize Scientists Joint Research Center.
