German Applied Chemistry Publishes ECUST Latest Progress in Drug-resistant Fungal Infections Treatment

Recently, the research team of Professor Liu Runhui from the School of Materials Science, ECUST has made a breakthrough in the research of drug-resistant fungal infection. Inspired by cell-penetrating peptides, Professor Liu Runhui and other researchers used short-chain guanidinated poly (2- oxazoline) to simulate host defense peptides, and found a new idea of structural design against drug-resistant fungal infections. The research article is published in German Applied Chemistry under the title of “Short Guanidinium-Functionalized Poly(2-oxazoline)s Displaying Potent Therapeutic Efficacy on Drug-Resistant Fungal Infections” and was selected as a VIP paper.

The article is first-authored by Doctoral Candidate Jiang Weinan and Postdoctoral Fellow Zhou Min, and is corresponding-authored by Professor Liu Runhui. This research work was financially supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
