Recently, a team of Professor Zheng Gaowei from the State Key Laboratory of Bioreactor Engineering, ECUST screened out a new imine reductase which can catalyze the reductive amination of large hindered carbonyl and amino compounds. The research article was published in the international authoritative journal Journal of American Chemical Society as a cover article.The research work was financially supported by the national key research and development plan, the National Natural Science Foundation and other scientific research projects.

The article is co-first authored by postdoctoral fellow Chen Feifei, from the School of Bioengineering, and Master candidate He Xuefeng, and co-authored by Academician Nicholas J. Turner of the University of Manchester, Professor Xu Jianhe and Professor Zheng Gaowei of ECUST.
